T1 Internet for Apartments and
Housing Projects

The owner of the building or the homeowner's association buys T1 line service, plus a router with a T1 interface and other networking supplies. Each apartment or home is wired for an Ethernet connection to the Internet router. The building or development office will also have a business grade Internet connection available as one of the users. Costs can be shared among those using the service. With as few as 15 or 20 people connected, the cost of shared T1 Internet service can be competitive with other broadband services.

All of the Internet connections are always on and connect to the network port of a personal computer or in-home wireless network. The bandwidth is shared among the residents who are online. If the project grows larger in scope, additional T1 lines can be "bonded" to give two to six times the capacity of a single T1 Internet service.
